Meet the People Behind Joyful Movement
FOUNDER, LAURA MARQUIT
Laura's background includes a deep enthusiasm for the body-mind connection and the body's innate ability to heal through movement.. Laura’s interest in the body and movement started with her love of sports as a kid - gymnastics, soccer, running, biking, surfing, frisbee and softball. Her own back pain led her to practicing Feldenkrais and Yoga, and eventually Pilates. Laura is both a Certified Master Level Pilates Instructor and a Certified Coach, CPCC. Laura has been working with people on difficult to solve injuries for 18 years -- including but not limited to herniated and bulging discs, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, sciatica and many kinds of unresolved spinal issues and back pain. She continues to hone her skills in body-centered coaching, teaching people how to think and move from their bodies as well as their brains.
